Ingredients
- 4 boneless chicken breasts, about 1 pound each
- 2 tablespoons zaatar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon sumac
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
Method
- In a bowl, combine zaatar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and massage to coat the chicken evenly. Let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for 6-8 minutes per side or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- While the chicken is grilling, prepare the sumac yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, sumac, minced garlic, lemon juice, and fresh mint. Stir well to combine.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes. Slice and serve with a dollop of sumac yogurt sauce on the side, sprinkled with flaky sea salt to taste.
