Weeknight Spaghetti and Meatballs
This classic spaghetti and meatballs recipe is a favorite for family dinners. It's hearty, comforting, and simple enough to make any night of the week.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Method
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into 16 meatballs, each about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes.
- Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
- While the meatballs are simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
