Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir until just combined; do not over-mix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
