Ingredients

  • 4 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground black pepper, and kosher salt.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the beef brisket.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the brisket from the skillet and set aside. Add beef broth and apple cider vinegar to the skillet, stirring to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
  6. Return the brisket to the skillet. Cover with a lid or foil and place in the oven.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreddable.
  8. Let the brisket rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
