Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Method
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground black pepper, and kosher salt.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over the beef brisket.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the brisket from the skillet and set aside. Add beef broth and apple cider vinegar to the skillet, stirring to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
- Return the brisket to the skillet. Cover with a lid or foil and place in the oven.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 5 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreddable.
- Let the brisket rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
