Simple Spaghetti and Meatballs

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Method
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate once browned.
- In the same skillet, add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, and basil. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until meatballs are cooked through.
- Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions in a pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Serve the meatballs and sauce over spaghetti, garnishing with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
