This loaded grilled cheese is everything you love about a classic comfort food, but made easier with a sheet-pan method. Perfect for a cozy dinner any time of the year.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, for greasing
  • 8 slices whole grain bread
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 4 ounces turkey breast, sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup spinach leaves
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Lightly grease a sheet pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Arrange 4 slices, buttered side down, on the prepared sheet pan.
  3. Evenly distribute the cheddar cheese, turkey breast, tomato slices, and spinach leaves over the bread slices on the sheet pan.
  4. Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread, buttered side up. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Place another sheet pan on top of the sandwiches to press them slightly. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the top sheet pan and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then cut each sandwich in half. Serve warm.
