Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • Sour cream, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large sheet pan with foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and diced onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. Arrange the corn tortillas on the prepared sheet pan. Divide the beef mixture evenly among the tortillas.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over each taco. Place the sheet pan in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tortillas are slightly crispy.
  7. Remove the tacos from the oven. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
  8. Serve immediately, allowing everyone to add their preferred toppings.
