Sausage and Peppers Skillet
This classic Sausage and Peppers Skillet is a hearty winter dish that's perfect for family dinners. With a combination of juicy sausages, colorful bell peppers, and onions, this dish is both simple and satisfying.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound Italian sausage links, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2 bell peppers, mixed colors, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Method
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes.
- Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Cook for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Return the sausages to the skillet, then pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
