Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup, for topping

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, beaten eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  4. Spread the remaining 1/4 cup of ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
