Ingredients

  • 200 g blanched almonds, toasted
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g honey
  • 1 large egg white, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Line a 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper, ensuring some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a food processor, pulse the toasted almonds until they are finely ground but not turning into a paste.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the powdered sugar and honey. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and gently fold in the finely ground almonds, beaten egg white, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down evenly with a spatula.
  6. Refrigerate the turrón for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.
  7. Once set, lift the turrón out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Cut into desired shapes and serve.
