Ingredients

  • 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 Korean pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth any creases, then transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Arrange the sliced Korean pears evenly across the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the honey, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Drizzle the mixture evenly over the pears.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over the pears to create a border. Brush the beaten egg over the pastry edges.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt before serving.
