Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, for dusting
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to ensure it fits neatly on your prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  5. Arrange the pear slices over the ricotta mixture in a circular pattern, slightly overlapping the slices.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg to help it brown and shine.
  7. Drizzle the pears with honey.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the pears are tender.
  9. Remove from oven and let it cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
