Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup almonds, chopped
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, melted unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt until a dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, combine the chopped almonds, honey, and pure vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
- Once the crust is baked, remove it from the oven and spread the almond and honey mixture evenly over the top.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the topping is golden and bubbling.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before using the parchment overhang to lift them out. Cut into 16 squares to serve.
