Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup finely chopped almonds
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Brush the entire surface with melted butter.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the buttered puff pastry, then sprinkle the chopped almonds on top.
- Fold each long side of the puff pastry towards the center, then fold one more time to meet in the middle, creating a log shape.
- Cut the rolled pastry into 1/2-inch slices and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the palmiers are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before serving.
