Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 2 cups thinly sliced apples
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Method
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cut in 1/2 cup unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in 1/4 cup ice water until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place the rolled dough into the pie plate, pressing it against the edges. Trim any excess dough.
- In a large bowl, toss 2 cups thinly sliced apples with 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
- Cover the pie with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let the pie cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
