Classic Pan-Fried Pork Chops
These pan-fried pork chops are juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. Serve them with the optional roasted vegetables for a complete meal. Easy to prepare and delicious, this dish will become a family favorite.
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in pork chops, about 1 inch thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 4 cups mixed vegetables, such as carrots and broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces
Method
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the pork chops on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Add butter and fresh thyme to the skillet, and let the butter melt and bubble slightly.
- If using vegetables, push the pork chops to one side of the skillet and add mixed vegetables, tossing them in the butter and seasonings.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving with the vegetables.
