Classic Garlic Butter Shrimp
This classic garlic butter shrimp is a deliciously simple dish that highlights the natural sweetness of fresh shrimp. Cooked in a rich, buttery garlic sauce, it's perfect for a relaxing summer weekend meal.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for drizzling
Method
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute, being careful not to brown the garlic.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the lemon juice, chopped parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and cook for 1 minute.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat the shrimp through.
- Season with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Drizzle with a touch of olive oil before serving for added richness.
- Serve the garlic butter shrimp immediately, garnished with extra chopped parsley if desired.
