Classic Beef Burgers
This classic beef burger recipe is hearty and satisfying, perfect for a comforting winter meal. Simple yet delicious, it's sure to become a family favorite.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, 80/20 blend
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- Olive oil, for brushing
Method
- Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each into a patty slightly larger than the buns.
- Brush the grill or skillet with olive oil, then cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.
- While the patties cook, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a patty, sliced tomato, red onion, and the top bun.
